When you care for yourself, you can care for others.
While exercise isn't a cure-all for mental health disorders, it is scientifically proven to help alleviate symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, and self-worth. By working together we can use fitness to help end the stigma of mental illness and what that looks like for different people.
As told by NAMI, community is crucial for us to thrive. When we care for ourselves, we can care for the ones around us. Showing up for yourself is the first step to showing up for people in your life. Community fights the symptoms of isolation and gives a sense of belonging!
Working out our bodies works out our minds. Fitness is about showing our bodies appreciation by moving them in ways that push us past what our minds believe we can do. Daily walking, strength training, dance, etc., are all ways to push yourself and create a more substantial, healthier lifestyle.
